woyww - water, paint and a cannon

A photo taken late Tuesday as I splash around a bit of paint and water.  This started out as a wet on wet experiment and then I saw wisteria in the blue/purple blobs and went with the flow.  Really pleased in the end result.

Yesterday was our Labour day holiday and while out for a stroll DH stumbles across a celebration event for "Captain La Perouse, navigators and those who have died at sea".  A nicely timed pic of the cannon being fired and a storm brewing.  French sailors dressed in historical naval regalia.  It was quite impressive.

I will slowly visit woyww desks but it will happen over a few days and even the weekend.  Hope you don't mind.

  2. Ohhh your Wisteria is gorgeous, Sandra. That should definitely find it's way onto the wall. I adore wisteria, but the frost has got our flowers the last two years, I shall be on guard next spring to protect them.
Your photo looks so dramatic against that dark sky, love it.

  14. Beautiful painting! I hope I will soon be able to do that. My husband and I begin a Water Color class tomorrow afternoon for next 5 Thursdays. Don't know what we are getting into. We spen quite a lot just on the paint and brushes. I didn't know there was so much to it. I was thinking watercolor like I do with little tiny brushes with inks on my cards. So we shall see.! LOL
Thanks for the peek. Happy WOYWW

  19. You have discovered your Inner Monet, I think!! That wisteria is fab, exactly the right colour and shape - it's beautiful :-)
I love stuff like that cannon shot...it comes with having a historical weapons mad son! There is a wonderful museum near Portsmouth which is full of old artillery which they fire regularly. Ear plugs are a necessity!!
